A utopian society is an idealistic one with no problems, issues, or end in sight. This style aims to reinvent the style of living of the masses by the creation of a perfect place. Utopia lends people an illusion of perfection. Imagine a world where no hardships exist, where everything is as ideal as can be. It is as unfathomable as a world without water. The existence of Utopia is seen only in science fiction and modern fantasy.

The conception of this form of society in architecture was through ideas and notions of a self-sufficient, independent, cohesive plan. This allows freedom of thought and expression in the workings of society. The planning and layout have little or no restrictions and facilitates a comfortable style of living. It prioritizes comfort and happiness over fulfilling planning guidelines and rigid structural systems.

Dystopia is a very bad or unfair society in which there is a lot of suffering, especially an imaginary society in the future, after something terrible has happened. Fear and distress are common features in dystopias, as are dictatorial governments, environmental disasters, and other qualities associated with a calamitous collapse in civilization. Despite certain similarities, dystopian literature differs from post-apocalyptic fiction, and a bad society is not always dystopian. Dystopian cultures exist in a variety of literary works and artistic depictions, especially in future-set scenarios.

There are a number of movies based on dystopia, for example, Blade runner, the theme of the movie basically screams danger and death. And more such examples are, Maze Runner, Divergent, The hunger games etc.

"Current technology gives us the means to create a global society, which is why utopian thinking in architecture has never been more important."
